Hi and I`m going to tell you about mermaids. A lot of people have spotted mermaids like Henry Hudson who is a world explorer. Here`s his story. One time Henry was in the Arctic on June, 15, 1608 When he saw a mermaid. Her skin was very white and her long hair was black and her tail was like the tail of a porpoise, and speckled like a mackerel.
A lot of other people claimed that they have seen mermaids but my little sister saw half of one. Once this very summer my sister my mom and some of my aunts were walking next to a creek when they saw a mermaid tail like Ariel`s but sparkly. Either the mermaid was dead or it was hiding in it`s tail. I believed in mermaids ever since that day.
Mermaids live in all sorts of places like islands, reefs, bays, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, fountains, brooks, wells, and tidal pools. Mermaids don`t live in swamps or marshes because it is hard to breathe and they think swamps are the perfect lairs for evil water beings.
This is what all mermaids look like. Nose: Filters oxygen from water just like a fish`s gills. Eyes: Shaped like a tear drop only if you turn your head sideways. Mouth: Always smiling. Voice: Beautiful and soothing. Ears: laying flat against the mermaids head. Hair: Long and flowing. Body: The upper half human the lower half fish. Tail: Moves like a dolphin and can turn into legs. Movement: Extremely graceful.

Mermaids have many friends like hermit crabs, sea stars, sea lions, sea horses, penguins, sea otters, humpback whales, gray whales, narwhals, and dolphins.
Each year mermaids pick a new queen. They hold a huge party for their new queen and the queen gets to tell them what kind of party she wants.
